Micronized Progesterone

(CAPSULE)

  • Progesterone balances estrogen and plays a key role in:

    • Protecting the uterine lining

    • Supporting deeper, more restorative sleep

    • Promoting a sense of calm and relaxation

  • Progesterone is typically taken at night and dosed based on your needs:

    • Lower dose → sleep support, early hormone therapy

    • Standard dose → uterine protection with estrogen therapy

    • Higher dose → additional support for sleep or specific clinical needs

    • Required if you have a uterus and are taking systemic estrogen

    • Helps reduce the risk of endometrial overgrowth

    • Often improves sleep quality and nighttime anxiety

  • You may be a candidate if you:

    • Are taking estrogen and have a uterus

    • Struggle with sleep or nighttime restlessness

    • Prefer a more natural, bioidentical hormone option

    Note:
If you have a peanut allergy, alternative compounded options are available using hypoallergenic bases.

Systemic Estradiol

(PATCH / SPRAY / GEL)

  • Systemic estradiol replaces the estrogen your body is no longer producing. It supports whole-body function, including:

    • Brain (mood, focus, memory)

    • Temperature regulation (hot flashes, night sweats)

    • Bone health

    • Skin and collagen support

    • Energy and overall vitality

  • Estradiol is prescribed in low, moderate, and higher doses, depending on your symptoms and goals.

    • Low dose → mild symptoms, early perimenopause, or sensitivity to hormones

    • Moderate dose → most common starting range for symptom relief

    • Higher dose → more significant symptoms or inadequate response to lower dosing

Dosing is individualized and adjusted over time based on how you feel—not a one-size-fits-all approach.

  • Systemic estrogen is typically used to treat:

    • Hot flashes and night sweats

    • Brain fog and mood changes

    • Sleep disruption

    • Low energy

    • Prevention of bone loss

  • You may be a good candidate if you:

    • Are in perimenopause or menopause

    • Have moderate to severe symptoms affecting daily life

    • Have no contraindications to estrogen therapy

    • Prefer a non-oral option (patch, spray, or gel) for a more stable and safer metabolic profile

Localized (vaginal) Estradiol

  • Localized estradiol works directly on vaginal and urinary tissues to restore health and function without significantly affecting the rest of the body.

    It helps:

    • Improve vaginal dryness and irritation

    • Reduce discomfort with intimacy

    • Support urinary health and reduce recurrent irritation

  • This is a low-dose therapy used locally:

    • Typically started more frequently, then reduced to a maintenance schedule

    • Minimal systemic absorption

    • Vaginal dryness or burning

    • Pain with intercourse

    • Recurrent UTIs or urinary urgency

    • Tissue thinning related to menopause

  • You may be a candidate if you:

    • Have vaginal or urinary symptoms—even if you are NOT on systemic hormones

    • Cannot or prefer not to use systemic estrogen

    • Want targeted relief with minimal systemic exposure

Testosterone

Option 1 (cream / topical)

Absorbs gradually through the skin, providing steady hormone support and more consistent levels throughout the day. A good option for patients who prefer a non-injection, daily routine.

Option 2 (subcutaneous injections)

Delivered in small, consistent doses under the skin to support stable hormone levels and predictable results over time.

Option 3 (intramuscular injections)

Given at less frequent intervals, often covered by insurance, and effective for patients who prefer a structured dosing schedule.

  • Testosterone is the primary male sex hormone, though it’s also present in women in smaller amounts. In men, it’s produced mainly in the testes and plays a vital role in overall health, not just sexual function.

  • Testosterone supports:

    • Sex drive and erectile function

    • Muscle mass and strength

    • Bone density

    • Mood, energy, and motivation

    • Cognitive function and focus

    • Red blood cell production

As men age, testosterone levels naturally decline—often starting in their 30s—and that drop can lead to a variety of symptoms that affect quality of life.

  • When testosterone levels fall below optimal levels, it can lead to:

    • Fatigue and low energy

    • Reduced libido or erectile dysfunction

    • Mood changes, including irritability or depression

    • Loss of muscle mass and increased body fat

    • Difficulty concentrating or memory problems

Testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) restores levels to a healthy range, helping men feel more like themselves again.

    • Documented low testosterone on lab work

    • Symptoms of testosterone deficiency, such as low libido, fatigue, mood changes, or muscle loss

    • Age-related decline with no clear cause but significant impact on daily function

At NP Empowered Wellness, we take a personalized, evidence-based approach—TRT is not about “anti-aging,” it’s about restoring balance and improving your health and vitality.

  • While testosterone replacement therapy (TRT) can be highly beneficial for many men, it’s not appropriate for everyone. You may not be a candidate if you have:

    • Prostate cancer or a history of prostate cancer

    • Elevated PSA levels (prostate-specific antigen) without medical clearance

    • Untreated sleep apnea

    • Uncontrolled heart failure

    • Severe lower urinary tract symptoms (e.g., frequent nighttime urination)

    • Hematocrit levels >54% (high red blood cell count)

    • Fertility concerns – TRT can suppress sperm production

⚠️ Testosterone therapy is not a shortcut or anti-aging fix. It requires proper evaluation, regular lab work, and close monitoring.

At NP Empowered Wellness, we follow evidence-based guidelines to ensure that testosterone therapy is safe, medically appropriate, and tailored to your individual needs.

  • We offer FDA-approved testosterone therapies in multiple forms to fit your needs and lifestyle:

    • Topical gel (daily application)

    • Intramuscular injections (weekly or biweekly)

    • Foam (alternative to gel for some patients)

We’ll work with you to determine the best method, dosing, and follow-up plan for optimal results and safety.

  • While there is an FDA-approved testosterone pellet for men, we do not offer pellet placement at NP Empowered Wellness.

    Here’s why:

    • Lack of flexibility — Once inserted, pellets cannot be adjusted, even if side effects or symptoms arise.

    • Higher risk of hormone spikes and crashes, especially early in the dosing cycle.

    • Limited control over dosage adjustments compared to gels, injections, or creams.

We prioritize safe, personalized, and adjustable testosterone therapy options to ensure your treatment evolves with your body’s needs. Our preferred methods include gels, injections, and foams that allow for close monitoring and dosage customization.

  • Your thyroid regulates your metabolism, energy, and overall body function. When it’s not balanced, it can affect nearly every system in your body.

Common symptoms of thyroid imbalance include:

    • Fatigue or low energy

    • Weight gain or difficulty losing weight

    • Hair thinning or hair loss

    • Brain fog or difficulty concentrating

    • Dry skin

    • Sensitivity to cold

  • Hormonal changes during perimenopause and menopause can unmask or worsen thyroid imbalances.

Many symptoms overlap with hormone imbalance, which is why a comprehensive approach matters.

    • Comprehensive lab testing (not just basic screening)

    • Ongoing monitoring to track changes over time

    • Evaluation alongside your hormone levels for a full picture

  • If needed, treatment may include:

    • Thyroid medication (when appropriate)

    • Nutritional and lifestyle support

    • Ongoing dose adjustments based on labs and symptoms

  • You may benefit from thyroid evaluation if you:

    • Feel persistently fatigued despite good sleep

    • Struggle with weight changes

    • Have ongoing brain fog or low motivation

    • Are starting or currently on hormone therapy

    • Want a more complete, root-cause approach to your health

  • At NP Empowered Wellness, thyroid health is often managed alongside hormone therapy to ensure your body is fully supported—not just partially treated.
